This is a drawing of Will Scarlett and his best friend Harley, at the Oxhill Visitor Centre, by Millie, aged 8! We think its fab!

Thank you very much to Georgia, age 10, who wrote this beautiful poem about Redwings!

Rescue horses every day

Every horse deserves to live

Day and night there is someone around

We give our love

I will do anything to help

Naughty people hurt horses

Generous poeple help them

SO PLEASE HELP!!

This is a lovely poem by Verity, and is a tribute to her favourite pony Furby. Thank you very much for your sweet poem.

My fave pony Furby would always wait,
With her small, pretty head leaning over the gate,

She would whinny with glee whenever she saw me,
She had been my pony since I was three.

I would go tack her up for a brilliant ride,
She was never afraid of the cold outside,
She would trot along with her son behind,
His name was Gizmo and he was kind.

Then one day I went to her stall,
She wasn't there at all.
I looked in the field and over the hill,
I even searched in the old flour mill.

Still today I wonder how she went,
I think of all the time I spent,
Mucking out the empty room,
Hear nothing but the sweeping broom.

I found out later that she became ill,
But with God in heaven she'll be fine she will.
She taught me to ride, she was a pearl,
Please remember my lovely girl. xxxxxxxxxxx

Here is a poem by Shafaq entitled 'Handsome Harry'! Harry was very pleased to receive such a nice poem.

He has an elegant body
And a bushy tail
I send him letters through the mail
Wherever he walks people stop and stare
For a long time he is the horse I've mostly known
Ever since then he hasn't grown
Everyday I wait for a letter
Sometimes I get an adoption leaflet through the post
But it is him I look at the most.
He is my favourite horse
When I can't adopt him I get cross.
I think of him every day
My love for him will always stay
Now I'm going to tell you his name
But I don't think you'll guess
His name is Harry and he's the best.

This is a lovely poem for the adoption donkey, Tufty, written by Rosie, aged 11 !

Tufty is my donkey friend
Unbelievably handsome
Friendly and a friend
Totally fabulous
You will be with me forever

Check out this new poem by Grace Bailey - we just love it, Well done!

Finnegan!

He trots in the fields,
Tall and proud,
A tri-coloured cob,
Who stands out from the crowd.

He wasn't wanted,
But I've no idea why,
Just to mount on his back,
Would make me touch the sky!

I don't understand,
Why you could be so cruel,
To leave three horses,
In a field or stall.

If you see him then,
and think, how could they do that?
Well you should see him now!

His coat shall gleam forever more,
His eyes shall shine with love and trust,
His mind shall walk free,
From dusk to dawn,

Finnegan,
Is my favourite boy,
The friendly cob,
Full of JOY!

Check out this poem by Caitlin Cartright - we think it's brill!

I stand alone,
in a field of yellow flowers,
the grass has all gone,
i just wait for the showers.

My owners have left me,
to live in the wild,
with no mum and no friends,
how will I survive?

But there's hope still to come,
Redwings are here,
and with their team by my side,
there's nothing to fear.

So now I'm standing here,
in a field with my friends,
the grass here is rich,
and the feed never ends.

Here's a great entry, from Rebecca Holm, age 9. Thanks Rebecca!

I live in a field of fresh green grass,

With my bestest buddy.

I saw the family I saw last week

and they're coming straight towards me!

I trot happily around

And put my face over the fence.

They stroked me very gently,

So I wouldn't be tense!

And here's a fab drawing of Adoption pony Dolly from the Redwings Ada Cole Rescue Centre in Essex. The artist is Kathryn Compton - well done Kathryn!
